New Year, Same Us.

Hello you, it’s Candice.

Happy New Year. Thank you for being here.

You probably arrived here after learning about our recent price increment, and this note is meant for us to speak at length. I don’t know a better way to do this, except to be completely honest and upfront with you. I am not a businesswoman. I have always enjoyed holding space, doing my work quietly behind the scenes, and serving communities where I feel there’s a need for my care and support.

Since the day I started SOL House, I am immensely lucky to be given growth opportunities and gained trust from strangers (turned friends) to share my love for Yoga and Ayurveda. As you know, we expanded our team sometime last year, and the time when we parted with Altered States was also the rough transition I had to experience and accept my new role as an independent space owner. I am still learning the ropes, I am still making mistakes, but I am never giving up on this work.

Being a space owner comes with more overheads, higher risks, and less time for what I used to do. After running the studio for a couple of months, I realised the output of my work should be valued more due to the limited resources (time, especially) I have to run the business and still offer bodywork service and teaching immersions. This explains the slight increment in my rates now, categorising as a business owner/senior therapist. I’d like to emphasize the quality that you will receive from all therapists in SOL House is the same. Both Ida and Weiqi are equally giving in nature (as some of you would know based on experience).

With each bodywork session, your support keeps us sustainable as a business that supports other small businesses too. We’re not here to scale high, we’re here to provide quality service, a supportive space, and an inspiring community to gather.

This year, I am hoping to expand my role as a Yoga and Ayurveda Educator, and invest my time in curating more long-form wellness programmes.

Coming up in the first half of the year are:

  • SOL Study Club

Term-based study groups to delve into the ancient teachings of Yoga and Ayurveda, as a way of life and a practice for self-realisation.

  • Self- Abhyanga Course

Receive the theoretical understanding, practical and technical skills to perform this potent therapeutic technique for self, as an important act of self-care.

  • Ayurvedic Bodywork Immersion

Step into the role of a healer to support one’s journey back into their true nature. Learn the healing art and science of Ayurveda for others and self.

If you’re keen on any of the above, do keep a lookout for our next mailer for launch details. I’d love to also hear where you are currently on your path of Yoga and Ayurveda, and how I might offer support and guidance in your practice. Write to me anytime, and I’ll be happy to connect over a cuppa chai or a virtual hello.

Once again, thank you for being here and for your unwavering trust and support. May 2024 be one filled with clarity and contentment for us all.

Deepest Gratitude,

Candice
